AULP Annual Conference 2024

19 - 21 June 2024 | Loughborough University

We are looking forward to welcoming university legal practitioners from across the UK and Ireland to join us in summer 2024 for our flagship AULP event. With great sessions from headline speakers, plus networking, CPD and wellbeing opportunities, we plan for this to be our biggest and best conference yet!

The Conference will open for early registration and networking on the evening of 19th June, with the full two-day programme of activity beginning on the 20th. The Conference will also host the presentation of the first ever AULP Awards at our gala dinner on the evening of the 20th.

We are working on an exciting programme of speakers, to be announced soon, which will cover topical issues for university legal teams, including:

  • Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act 2023
  • Managing cyber risks and attacks
  • A new “Duty of Care” following the Abrahart case?
  • The National Security Act 2023 and Foreign Influence Registration Scheme
  • Inquests

This year’s Conference will also include a focus on wellbeing, as we recognise the importance of our members having the psychological tools they need to thrive in their professional lives. Our keynote speaker, Pam Burrows, has over 30 years experience helping teams stress less & perform better. A qualified Nursery Nurse and Social Worker, she blends a wealth of knowledge with practical techniques to empower wellbeing and behaviour change. The Conference will also make the most of Loughborough University’s Green Flag award winning campus and renowned expertise in sport and wellbeing.

The in-person experience was hugely valuable and it was a great opportunity to build the peer support networks that are so vital for resilience in this profession. The breadth and quality of speakers was also impressive with some valuable shared learning. Topics were directly relevant to current issues facing the sector.
